SOT: The Soundtrack
Featuring four instantly classic songs (you'll see) by veteran indie-folk/rock band For Algernon, and a stirring score by Shiny Red Nothing, the soundtrack to Ship Of Theseus is an aural adventure to accompany the main attraction. It's important to note that the album, however, is ordered for the listening experience, not to accompany the book necessarily.
If you'd like your listening experience to be tailored for the book, the track listing and play-points are below.
1. "Let's Get Low(er)" by for algernon. Start this song before you start reading the "Word Of Warning" at the beginning of the book.
2. "You Might be The First One" by for algernon. Start this song before you begin reading Part I, Chapter 2.
3. "An Army Of You And Me" by for algernon. Start this song before you begin reading Part I, Chapter 3: Subchapter 34.
4. "The Lost Encampment" by Shiny Red Nothing. Hit play on this track when you read the following passage from Part II, Episode :1" From a clearing at the top of a particularly steep and rocky hill..."
5. "Go Beserk" by Shiny Red Nothing. This one will begin in Episode 2 when you read: "Headlights illuminated them..."
6. "Baited Breath" by Meat Curtain. For this track, you'll hit play when you read the sentence: "The truck veered left, slowing as the Chrysler approached," in Episode 3.
7. "Espie, Believe In Me," by for algernon. Turn this track on when you read this bit: "Despite his anxiety..." in Episode 4.
8. "Escape Through The Cultist Wormhole," by Shiny Red Nothing. Begin track 8 later in Episode 4 when you read: "Between Simpatico Plaza and the Heights was Sunset Park..."
9. "Attack Of The Left Hand/Skyrat's Theme" by Shiny Red Nothing. Track 8 belongs to Episode 5, and should start playing when Laser asks Skyrat what he's waiting for. If it ends before you finish the chapter, play it again! Skyrat's gonna need all the support he can get.
10. "You Might Be The First One" by for algernon. We're repeating tracks now as we come full circle. Begin this song before you start reading Episode 6.
11. "An Army Of You And Me" by for algernon. Start when you read the sentence: "Funny how you can be blind to something right before your eyes," from Episode 6.
12. "Let's Get Low(er)" by for algernon. Finally, replay this song in Episode 6 when you come to this bit: "After enjoying the evening’s visit..."
